I am an Assistant Professor of Finance at Virginia Tech Pamplin College of Business

My research examines how incentives, information, institutions, and managerial characteristics shape corporate decisions and value creation. I study questions ranging from the design of executive incentives and the flow of information across firms to corporate innovation and managerial human capital. I combine economic theory with empirical research designs that exploit new data, institutional changes, and technological tools to identify causal mechanisms. More broadly, my goal is to understand why similar governance arrangements can produce very different outcomes across firms, and how firms can better design institutions, allocate talent, and use information to create value.
